– An all media workshop –
Learn to design abstract paintings in this three-day workshop with artist and designer, Russell Black. Through lecture, demonstration, and class participation, you will learn to express your creative ideas through the use of abstraction. This will be an “open” media workshop (watercolor, acrylics, oils, pastels, etc.).
Points that will be discussed:
The difference between a representational vs. non-objective abstract painting
The elements and principles of design
The creation of and use of design patterns
Symbolic abstraction as it relates to subject
Non-objective and pure design as it relates to expression vs. decoration
