The 3rd Annual Southern Quill Benefit Reading & Silent Auction

April 3 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Southern Quill, Dixie State University’s literary arts journal, will hold its 3rd annual Benefit Reading & Silent Auction in the Zion Room (HCC 537) on April 3, 2019. We will be auctioning off over 75 items, including snowmobile rentals, resort stays, gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, merchandise, artwork, and much more. The event will feature two guest authors, Tom C. Hunley, a poet and professor at Western Kentucky University. His latest poetry collections are HERE LIES (Stephen F. Austin State University Press 2018) and THE STATE THAT SPRINGFIELD IS IN (Split Lip Press 2016). His work was also featured on The Writer’s Almanac. Dorothy Allred Solomon is a local memoirist and DSU faculty member. She is the author of several books, including Predators, Prey, and Other Kinfolk: Growing Up in Polygamy (W. W. Norton 2003) and Daughter of the Saints: Growing Up In Polygamy (W. W Norton 2004). She has appeared on various television programs to discuss her work, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today Show, and Larry King Live. The auction is free and open to the public. Bidding begins at 6:30 p.m. ​
