Bonnie Conrad – Painting the Rural West
Life on the ranch fuels Conrad’s perspective of the West. Subjects range from Native American and contemporary cowboy/cowgal to women, children and animals in rural settings.
Life on the ranch spurs her work. Conrad has lived and painted “The Life” in Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Nevada, Washington, and Utah. Presently she paints Winters from her St George studio in beautiful redrock country and summers in Mendon, Utah, at the foot of the Wellsville Mountains.
Conrad, who sports a painterly style and skillful use of color, is known for her striking portrayal of light and has won numerous awards; Top 15% Bold Brush Painting Contest 2021, Marquis Who’sWho Lifetime Achievement Award in Arts 2017, Purchase Award St. George Arts Festival ’15, Southwest Art Publisher’s Award plus Texas Award at American Plains Artists ‘12 and Honorable Mention, Oil Painter’s of America National ’11. Bonnie is proudly a Signature Member of Oil Painter’s of America and American Women Artists. Her works adorn numerous private collections including permanent collections at Clymer Museum, St. George Art Museum and Sears Art Museum, Dixie State University.
