Kevin Mills & Drew Petersen: Tortured Bliss
Presented by Kayenta Arts Foundation at Center for the Arts at Kayenta Ivins, UT
Accomplished and virtuosic duo, Cellist Kevin Mills and pianist Drew Petersen, present Tortured Bliss, an evening of powerful and transformative classical music that highlights cornerstone repertoire for Cello and Piano. Changing the game for cello literature, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 2 in G Minor takes the instrument upwards towards an equal partner status with the piano, while doing so in a tragic key. Brahms’ Cello Sonata No. 1 in E Minor is an epic journey that takes the cello into the depths of somber beauty and raw emotion. Both showcase the capabilities and the range of the cello, and are undeniable to the growth of the cello as a solo instrument for many composers to come. Unbound: Art of the West | St George Exhibition
Presented by Modern West Fine Art at St. George Museum of Art Saint George, UT
Modern West is pleased to collaborate with the St. George Museum of Art in traveling our exhibition Unbound: Art of the West. Works from our MW artists will be on view at the museum March 28-May 30, 2026. Unbound: Art of the West is a traveling exhibition curated by Modern West Fine Art in Salt Lake City, Utah, featuring established and emerging artists who, in varied and compelling ways, reframe our understanding of the West. Looking to modernists such as Louis Ribak and Beatrice Mandelman, who left behind their New York City lifestyle to pursue abstraction in the vast Western landscape, to contemporary artists such as Angela Ellsworth and Billy Schenck, who redefineD the visual language and expectations of Western art, the exhibition is inspired by works that push the parameters of what art has been, and how it can move forward –– it is ambitious, inspiring and unbound. Featured artists include Shonto Begay, Michael Coles, Shalee Cooper, Angela Ellsworth, Phil Epp, Kiki Gaffney, Sheldon Harvey, Suzanne Hill, Jim Jacobs, Lenka Konopasek, Beatrice Mandelman, Arlo Namingha, Kevin Red Star, Louis Ribak, Billy Schenck, Woody Shepherd, Ben Steele, Eugene Tapahe and Mike Whiting.
