2020 Kanab Writers Conference

Beginning with school visits by J. Scott Savage, the 2020 Kanab Writers Conference kicks off on Thursday, November 12th. During the day on Thursday, we'll have a writing retreat and plein air hike, followed by a free fireside chat with J. Scott Savage and public readings from students in the community.

A self-publishing seminar hosted by Eschler Editing will take place Friday morning, followed by 45 classes spread out through Friday afternoon and Saturday in breakout sessions. We'll also...

Beginning with school visits by J. Scott Savage, the 2020 Kanab Writers Conference kicks off on Thursday, November 12th. During the day on Thursday, we'll have a writing retreat and plein air hike, followed by a free fireside chat with J. Scott Savage and public readings from students in the community.

A self-publishing seminar hosted by Eschler Editing will take place Friday morning, followed by 45 classes spread out through Friday afternoon and Saturday in breakout sessions. We'll also have a bookstore with author signings, pitch sessions and manuscript consults available to conference attendees.

On Friday evening, Carol Ormond will have a free lecture with Q&A session for the public on the Wesley Powell expeditions and the involvement of the Paiute Indians. Amy Harmon will offer the keynote address to the conference on Saturday morning. The community is invited to participate in an essay contest and submit to the annual conference anthology.

Admission

Conference runs November 12-14, 2020. Plein Air hike and writing retreat: $10 Self-Publishing seminar: $40 General Conference sessions: $100 Tickets available beginning May 1st, early bird discount of $25 until August 30. Free community events on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as free entry to the bookstore throughout the conference.
