LaFave Gallery is located in Springdale, Utah, surrounded by the soaring red sandstone cliffs of Zion National Park. The gallery was built and established in 2012 and represents an eclectic and talented group of local and regional artists who capture the landscape and spirit of this high desert country in a variety of mediums. Stephen Roth designed the exquisite Arts and Crafts-inspired gallery space that showcases the art in a beautiful, airy, and light-filled setting. The building design and materials echo and complement the magnificent cliffs that surround the gallery. We look forward to your visit and invite you to view our collection.

Mediums I have used to express myself have been: silver, oil paints, pencil/charcoal, pastels and watercolor. I've studied under a few, well known artists in Utah and South Carolina.
Finding peace with every brush stroke.
I have been been enjoying the beauty of oil paints for many years. After a life-hiccup, I am even more passionate about this medium, and continuing to grow and improve with every brush stroke. I believe there is always room to learn a little more and challenge myself to a greater potential.
Lisa Huber is a St George artist working mostly in watercolor and oils. Her watercolors often include an oil under-painting for added texture.
I have dabbled in art all of my life. As children it was what we did to keep busy. It was what we made for others when birthdays and Christmas came around. However, it was not for making a living--that's what my Dad used to day. Today I am a full-time software engineer, but I love expressing myself with my art, and have set aside one hour a day for this purpose. I was often asked why I didn't quit working and spend all of my time painting. Dad was right; it simply doesn't pay the bills. I have now retired, and still spend at least one hour a day in my studio.

Being creative has always been a part of my life. Different mediums, subjects, places, people and events continually shape me as an artist and give me inspiration. Artistic influences in my life are always present in my mind when painting. The advice and lessons I have gathered stay with me as part of my journey as an artist. Living in Southern Utah provides me a lifetime of subjects which satisfies my painting desires. My goal is to communicate with the viewer the joy I see around me. Listening to each painting to understand what should or should not be included is a lifelong lesson. Painting also healing process for me. It gives me the opportunity to release the days weariness and replace it with a renewal of life. I look forward to this period of transformation every time I pick up a brush.

As a Pioneer Museum we stand out because of our collection of local histories, photos and artifacts. We are striving to creating new displays that tell an interesting story about pioneer life and the struggles to survive in Washington County. Our goal is to be an educational resource for the communities in our county as well as introduce our many global visitors to our pioneers.
We are a Pioneer Museum with a collection of photos, artifacts and written histories of the early Washington County settlers dating from 1853 to 1900. Our organization, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, support the museum by volunteering to serve as Docents and with financial support. All of our staff and Board are volunteers. We are open from 10 AM to 5 PM daily except Wednesday and Sunday. Our hours for December are 11 AM to 3 PM. Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
