Lisa Huber
Lisa Huber was born five months before the Korean War ended, in a fairly rural part of Salt Lake County. Farms, hayfields, and barnyards with horses, cows, goats, chickens, and the accompanying trucks and tractors were part of her childhood. But “Progress” and soldiers returning from war meant homes for new families needed to be built. The farmland was cleared, the barns torn down and the animals carted away. The city edged closer. The images of this time are haunting because of a simpler way of life that disappeared in the blink of an eye. These memories would later be incorporated into many of Lisa’s art pieces.
Lisa’s art instruction began at age 4, sitting beside older siblings, copying their work and using their supplies. Later there were high school and 4-H art classes. Following advice from her father, she graduated from college with a BA in Math and French and went into software development. After reassessing her life and prior goals, she picked up a sketch pencil in the mid-1980’s and began developing her drawing skills from art books. Black on white wasn’t satisfying, so she purchased watercolors and more books. In 1990 she took her first watercolor class. This began a series of workshops with prominent Utah artists. She has subsequently sold her originals and prints to folks from all over the world.
As a child Lisa loved art and it was what she and her siblings did to keep busy as well as what was crafted as gifts for birthdays and Christmas. However, it was not for making a living–that’s what her Dad used to say. In 2018 Lisa retired after over 35 years as a software engineer—ten modeling 3-D virtual worlds, and four programming 5-axis machinery, both requiring visual artistic skills. However, with her love of art, she has always set aside one hour a day for her art. When asked why she didn’t quit working and spend all of her time painting, she says, ‘Dad was right; it simply doesn’t pay the bills’.
She has sold her artwork at Art Festivals all over Utah. She has more recently sold at the Arrowhead Gallery in downtown St George, but currently does commissions and sells out of her home gallery in the Bloomington Ranches part of St George.
Lisa hopes that her artwork draws the viewer in by its color, texture, and innovation, but also sparks images from memories of simpler times in all our lives.

Miriam Rawson
Miriam Rawson started her art journey as a little girl watching her mother paint with oils. The fragrance and the process was instantly appealing to her. She kept her painting dream alive by painting, fabric, designs, and working as a display designer.
When her children were raised, she knew she could finally return to being a full-time artist. After returning to school, she felt she was ready to show her work. She and three other women were able to showcase their paintings at the Sears Museum in St. George Utah, and her art has often exhibited in the annual invitational at the Sears Her work has been featured in the Springville Museum of art, and one of her piecesis currently in the LDS Museum of history in Salt Lake City. Sharon Turley
I grew up in Idaho where I spent summers backpacking and camping in the Teton Range, and snow skiing in the mountains during the winter months. My parents loved to be outdoors and taught me to love and appreciate God’s handiwork.
I studied art in high school and the during the summer after graduation, I had the opportunity to spend 6 weeks in Europe studying art history. That is where I fell in love
with the old Dutch master painters and impressionists upon seeing originals of some of their beautiful work. This helped me to decide to major in art at Brigham Young University where I earned a BA degree in art and history.
The next 45 years I dedicated my time to raising a family of 5 children and helping in my husband’s business, but summers found us again outdoors enjoying family backpacking, camping, and plenty of time on the ski slopes.
Upon my husband’s retirement I rediscovered my love of art after moving to St. George and taking a drawing class from Roland Lee. He gave me the confidence to start painting and after taking a few workshops, I decided to put my energies into landscape art where I could express my love for the simple beauties of the outdoors. I have had the privilege of studying with wonderful mentors such as Jim Wilcox, John Poon, Scott Christensen, Matt Smith, and many others gifted painters at plein air events.

Marilyn Rose
Marilyn Rose has been on a varied yet focused path of studying and applying the principles and techniques of fine art since 1992. As a plein air painter since 1996, Marilyn learned to create a composition quickly and capture the essence of a scene with expressive brush and palette knife strokes. She loves to capture the essence of the landscape in small plein air paintings that may be used for larger studio pieces. She says, “I love the peace and comfort of being where life is simple, basic and real.”
While landscape is Marilyn’s main focus, still life and figural work have always been a mainstay in her development as an artist. She sums up the inspiration that she finds in various subject matter: “These subjects take me deep into a place where I draw inner strength, and I love to connect with others who are searching for that power in themselves.” This idea carries over into the weekly oil painting class she teaches in St. George.
With four one-artist shows, acceptance into several national and statewide juried shows, hundreds of paintings in private collections in the U.S. and the U.K., plus over ten years of experience teaching oil painting, Marilyn feels her career is well-rounded, yet she knows that there are years of study and growth ahead of her.

Tina Stergios
As a visual explorer living in southern Utah, my art is a mirror of everyday journeys, destinations and pathways that trigger emotions. Captured through various media, my images are illustrative—mostly realism. This creativity sometimes reflects physical and emotional traumas in my life, conveyed through subject matter and materials. I use art as a healing outlet, which may also resound with the viewer.
My career has been a kaleidoscope of mediums/purposes. As a graphic designer/illustrator for years, the focus was pleasing the client. Now, my fine art images are created using various skills: painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, pyrography, and paper arts. Media is chosen depending on the subject matter. And, as I am also an “urban sketcher,” my focus is creating a piece that captures a moment in time and place. Sort of a visual diary of everyday life.
In my early years I wasn’t sure that art was my path. After many awards, and interventions by mentors, my choice to be a lifelong artist IS my story. I am now creating, and entering, my last chapter in life through art.

Kathy Noble
For more than 44 years, I have explored the expressive possibilities of oil, gouache, and pastel, creating work that celebrates the beauty of landscapes and florals. My paintings often feature abstract, intuitive strokes—gestures that invite the viewer’s eye to fill in the blanks and engage with the scene on a personal level.
Working from my home studio in Ivins, Utah, I draw inspiration from the colors, textures, and rhythms of the natural world. My artistic journey is deeply rooted in family legacy; I attribute my lifelong love of art to my grandmother, an artist who first sparked my interest in art.
Over the years, my work has received multiple awards and has been showcased in prominent venues, including a feature on the Jumbotron in New York City. These moments continue to fuel my passion for creating art that captures emotion, movement, and atmosphere.

April Denning
I am a mosaic artist who truly dreams in color. I bring imagination to life by transforming ordinary outdoor spaces into vibrant sanctuaries—showers, kitchens, bathrooms, patios, and decks become peaceful, serene retreats. Inspired by the beauty of Southern Utah’s outdoor lifestyle, I craft each piece with joy, creativity, and purpose. I especially love to utilize all colors whether it be glass or tile… infused with mirror for reflection and action. My motivation is seeing a finished space that is both one in the world and OUT OF THIS WORLD!

Ron Larson
Ron Larson paints what he feels. With an art career spanning 50+ years, his philosophy is that everything presents itself as art. Ron sometimes uses the bold colors of oil, and sometimes the softer feel that watercolor offers, but always he finds contrasts, where there are deep, dark shadows and striking reflections of light. He spends his time in nature looking for places that speak to him, that give him a special feeling of peace and beauty.
Ron explains what art means to him: “I believe that art, both its creation and the experience of enjoying it, is a wonder that can heal the soul. As a landscape painter, I feel a closeness to the natural world, and I hope my art can help people to connect in a deep and meaningful way to the beauty of the nature that surrounds us. All of my art is meant for such an outcome, and I feel a great satisfaction when someone feels something from my art.

Jerome Quenneville
Jerome began drawing at the age of seven with a babysitter who was a budding artist. Hours were spent on the arm of the chair drawing trees and clouds and he’s been drawing ever since. Highschool art class introduced him to clay and the potter’s and life had changed. With an associate degree in Arts and Crafts, Jerome was influenced by the work of Japanese potters, Sumi painters and impressionists.
After seven years working in the windshield factory of Ford Motor Company, the opportunity in Ford’s North American Design Center opened where Jerome spent the following twenty-five years of his career.
He worked his way to Master Modeler and then Sculptor. In this unique environment with 2-D artists, in every medium and material with designers on the interiors, exteriors and painters to design cars and trucks for future production. Jerome was on an incredibly talented team creating sculptures that looked even better than the road-worthy models. This satisfied Jerome’s creative sensibilities until at the age of 53 he retired, allowing time for painting and creating for the grandkids including building desks, bunkbeds, several paintings and murals to name a few.
In 2018 Jerome and his wife sold their belongings to live a nomad life taking them to The British Isles, India, Israel, Egypt, Europe, painting the wonderful world along the way until February of 2020 brought them back to the United States, where they settled in the beautiful red rocks of southern Utah where he plans to continue painting everything that brings joy and light to share with all of you.

LaJoy Gustaveson
My early years were spent in a factory town of Spreckels, California which lies a few miles from the coast of Monterey, Carmel, and Pacific Grove. Many years were spent studying movements and characteristics of the ocean with its surrounding environment.
The Santa Cruz mountains and John Muir Forest also gave me a wealth of information and it had a great influence in my love of nature and the great outdoors. Residing in Utah and Idaho has enriched my love of billowy, stormy and sunny skies, especially the radiant sunsets. And snow!! The prairies and mountains are magical.
I have always had the desire to paint pictures of these memories. As a child, Color Books and crayons were my constant companions. However, I began painting when I was 29 years old with my head and heart ready to burst all of my stored visions.
In 1964, I enrolled in the adult evening classes under Hortense Bullock at San Jose City College. She was an incredible artist and a master of color. For two years, I ingested her knowledge of color and design through countless hours of experimenting, creating charts and developing my own “Master Color Theory”.
In 1966, I began teaching in my home. 60 years ago. In June of 2009, Alice Hiatt came to my painting class for Dixie Community Education Program. We became partners and in 2010 opened our studio.
