Brigham's Playhouse believes in the power of live theatre and its ability to provide audiences and performing artists with life-changing experiences. Brigham's Playhouse will accomplish this objective by:

1) Providing family audiences with excellent, affordable, Broadway-caliber, wholesome and edifying theatre.

2) Providing a work environment and life-style for performing artists that is: based on high moral and ethical values; conducive to inspiration from heavenly sources; and able to allow time with families and for community/church service.

3) Promoting performing arts through a diverse education program that will develop creative & expressive artists and be founded on professional technique, family values, and principles of ethical living.

4) Creating and producing original shows containing theatre, music, and/or dance that promote happy family living, encourage principle centered living, and/or motivate the audience to build a better world.

The Knapps met the Youngs in 2001. Jamie Young was working as a Professor of Musical Theatre and we became good friends and big fans of the theatre program. Doug has been musical all his life and was recruited to help out at the college theatre every so often to work as an audition accompanist or rehearsal accompanist. It was through these experiences that the wheels began churning for the eventual realization of doing our own theatre together. Doug was in another profession which took us to another state. While apart--our families remained close and the talks of our own theatre continued. Then in 2011 a job opportunity opened up at the college where Jamie was teaching. Doug applied for the job and was hired to teach and work in the music and theatre departments. So for two and a half years Jamie and Doug worked together on productions at the college and continued to discuss the dream of one day doing the same thing--but being their own bosses. The dream became a reality when in the fall of 2013 Jamie moved his family to St. George. He found a place for the theatre, invited them down, and the rest is history---resulting in Brigham's Playhouse.
