Come visit the actual discovery site of 200-million-year-old fossils! Learn how early dinosaurs behaved; things like swimming, running and crouching.
Welcome to the Early Jurassic! First and foremost, the Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm represents the discovery of a 200-million-year-old lakeshore environment along with footprints from the creatures that lived here. Because of our location along the shores of ancient Lake Dixie, we have the largest collection of dinosaur swim tracks. Other fossils found here include tracks of insects, fish swim trails, and sedimentary structures, all of which tell the story of the area.
Make sure to check out the onsite preparation lab staffed by volunteers that handle and clean fossils from the region.
