Consequential Women – Carmen Stenholm PhD
A history of human war and suffering is not only the story of warrior men. It is also the story of women and children who often fight for survival and sanity on other fronts. From the peasant mother sharing her last bite of food with a hungry child to the heroines dying for the right to live lives of dignity and respect, women have played vital roles in our human quest for meaning.
Let’s explore some of the roles played by the women of earlier generations with Carmen Stenholm, Ph.D. Award-winning author, teacher and psychologist, Stenholm brings to life the characters in her books Crack Between the Worlds and A Woman Standing. These strong, flawed women remind us of our own families and those of our friends. Let us share with each other some of their strengths, hopes and dreams. It is, after all, these same women who made our lives possible.
