One of my earliest memories is of my grandmother doing a small watercolor…I was probably 3 years old and that image has been imprinted on my mind. When I began studying art seriously the first stroke with the brush and water brought that memory back full force. I have been bathing in colors ever since. Either teaching art history, painting, drawing, design, oils, watercolor, mixed media I have been involved someway in the process of creating art works. I have been on several community art projects way back in the beginning….I was one of the original founders of the watercolor society in 1999 and the first president. That Southern Utah Watercolor society has changed name now and I am a charter of the Dixie Watercolor society as well as Southern Utah Art Guild. I taught at Dixie college for 6 years before it became a University . I taught 10 years at Tuacahn High School for the Performing arts and was chair of the visual Arts Academy. I retired in 2013, served a mission for my church , had major surgery, have recovered and am finally back at my first love…color…painting, teaching….and am teaching classes at Utahtech. Full circle…..because I have to paint.
