Rosalyn Boarer, Photographer. Her journey into photography began when she was 10 years old and her older brother bought her a Brownie Hawkeye camera for her birthday. She began photographing friends playing, family trips, objects that captured the interest of a child. That was the beginning of the process that led to the passion for photography that Rosalyn has to this day. Years later, Rosalyn joined the Photography Club in High School where film processing took place in the dark room. those were the days of film, long before digital cameras were developed. Next came the Polaroid Camera which was great for instant gratification waiting only a couple of minutes for a print, followed by a series of point and Shoot cameras. Most of all, Rosalyn enjoyed memorializing places traveled, landscape scenes that captured the essence of emotions whether it be people, historical sights, sunsets, architecture old and new, or street shooting. Color, Texture and Composition are the three most important aspects to constructing a workable piece of art to her. Moving to the Southwest is where the real passion for photography grew. Rosalyn started a photography club, “Mesquite Shutterbugs” which was open to any and all who had an interest in photography and a strong desire to learn and grow. Currently living in Washington, Rosalyn has discovered the freedom to practice her craft. She loves to photograph wild horses, landscape (which in our area is so stunning), old and historic buildings, flowers and night sky. Shooting infrared is a new passion and outlet for creating art that is different. Rosalyn considers photography “visual artistry” and herself an artist with a digital brush. She produces art that is different as seen through the eyes of an artist.
