Arts to Zion TOUR Gallery/Museum
Drawing has always been my passion since being a child. It’s simple, portable, inexpensive, and can provide an endless outlet for what’s going on in my life and new ideas. It can also serve as a visual journal. I started drawing at a very young age, but health issues, a graphic design career, family obligations and a serious car accident often detoured the fine art direction into a rut. I particularly enjoyed doing portraits early on, using a variety of media: charcoal, pastel, acrylic and oil.
Although it’s not fine art, the Las Vegas area was/is sprinkled with some of my *creative* graphics work, be it trail signage and icons, posters and programs for performances, or murals painted on the walls of homes or businesses.
I returned to creating art that feeds MY soul after the car accident in 2015. I picked up a pen and sketchbook in 2016 resulting in over 300 drawings at year’s end. I discovered other media along the way, and also began doing origami.
Arts and crafts helped me during a physically and emotionally painful time. Art heals. Doodling, writing, or drawing, a pen and sketchbook are great tools for pondering life’s daily dramas and your personal dreams.
You never know where the stroke of a pen will lead you. It has now led me to this tour!
